Faithful Living - Faithful Giving Campaign

FAITHFUL LIVING - FAITHFUL GIVING SUNDAY SCHOOL CHALLENGE
The Faithful Living - Faithful Giving campaign is underway. Letters are on their way to provide all the details. Over the past few weeks the campaign has been introduced in the adult Sunday school classes, in the bulletin, and during worship. To add an element of fun to the campaign we are introducing an Adult Sunday School Challenge. This Challenge is designed to measure the level of participation within each of the Adult Sunday School classes as it relates to each of the key goals of the campaign. Progress will be measured and reported each week so classes can see where they stand relative to the other classes. Progress and participation in six key areas will be measured as shown below:
  • Participation: We will measure and report the percent of the class who has completed and turned in their Commitment Cards. The goal is for everyone in the church to complete a card to indicate how God has inspired each of us to participate in Faithful Living.
  • Number of One-Time Gifts: This relates to the church-wide challenge to get 70 one-time gifts of $1000. Regardless of the specific goal, everyone is encouraged to give a One-time gift of some amount. This metric will track the percent of class members who have offered a One-time gift.
  • One-Time Gift - Average Gift in Dollars: This is a second metric for the One-time gift will measure the average dollar amount of the class members’ One-time gifts adjusted for class size to level the playing field (ie, if 9 members of the Seekers class give total One-time gifts totaling $9000 and there are a total of 30 members in the Seekers’ class; the average gift will be $300 per class member--$9,000/30 members)
  • Electronic Giving Plan Starts: We emphasis this part of the campaign because electronic giving aligns with the Biblical teaching of offering our “first fruits” and is an excellent tool to help provide a steady, dependable inflow of resources even during the summer vacation season. The metric will track the percentage of class members who initiate electronic giving during the campaign.
  • Faithful Giving Increases: Here we measure the number of individuals who have responded to the call to increase the current level of Faithful Giving by a specific percentage. The specific challenge is to increase giving by 15% of your current giving level (ie, if a person is currently giving $100 per week; a 15% increase would be a step up to $115 per week). Recognizing not everyone can manage a 15% increase, so in the challenge any percent increase will be counted. The metric will track the percentage of class members who increase their giving.
  • Faith of Abraham measure: This measure recognizes individuals who respond in multiple ways to the call. On the commitment card there are two sides; one for starting or increasing participation in areas of Faithful Living, to other for starting or increasing in various areas of Faithful Giving. This measure counts those who respond with at least one commitment to increase participation (Faithful Living) and commitments in at least two areas of Faithful Giving. The metric will track the percentage of class members responding to more than one call.
The Adult Sunday School class Challenge is just one way we hope to generate some energy for the Faithful Living-Faithful Giving campaign. If you are a member of a Sunday School class we hope you’ll find this Challenge both fun and informative. If you have question about the challenge or the campaign, please feel free to contact anyone from your Finance Committee.
