Tuesday Evening
Bible Study
NEW BIBLE STUDY STARTS SEPT. 20 The Tuesday evening Bible study group starts a new study of the United Methodist Social Creed and Social Principles on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Everyone is welcome to participate in a single session or as many sessions as you please. Did you know the church has social principles — policy statements — on 76 of the most significant social issues of our times, including abortion, human sexuality, capital punishment, climate change, war and peace, military service, divorce, racism, alcohol and tobacco, gambling, and the rights of women. The group will select the issues in which they have the most interest. The Social Principles, while not to be considered church law, are a prayerful and thoughtful effort on the part of the General Conference to speak to the human issues in the contemporary world from a sound biblical and theological foundation as historically demonstrated in United Methodist traditions. For more information and/or the Zoom link, please contact Bob Bryant at bjanbryant@comcast.net.
